Talaja Caves

Echoes of Ancient Faith

Buddhist & Jain Rock-Cut Sanctuaries

Perched above the Shatrunjaya River, the Talaja Caves date back to the 2nd century BCE and are believed to have served both Buddhist monks and Jain ascetics. The site features chaityas, rock-cut steps, and peaceful views across the valley.
Though less known, it’s a gem for those drawn to archaeology, spiritual spaces, or simply a quiet place to think. The walk up is gentle, with history unfolding at every turn.
